It’s no secret the Sunshine Coast and Noosa attracts the rich and famous with many splashing millions on luxury abodes.

From the likes of former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s successful entrepreneur wife Therese Rein to business moguls such as Clive Palmer and reality TV star Krissy Marsh, the region is a hotbed for celebrity and well-established property owners.

Tom Offermann of Offermann Real Estate said Noosa especially was a desirable location for many due to its enviable climate and environmental assets.

“Ninety per cent of the Noosa Shire is not built on, the rest is all waterways and parks,” he said.

“It’s also the tight controls the subsequent councils have had on the area, creating a very amenable lifestyle for people.”

Mr Offermann couldn’t confirm if there had been a spike in high-profile buyers in the region, but said it was “steady in flow”.

The median house price in Noosa is $2.6 million, he said, with properties boasting an ocean view “very high” on most buyers’ lists.

Here are 16 high profile buyers who have snapped up properties on the Sunshine Coast and in Noosa:
