A new retirement development proposal in Caloundra South promises residents resort-style living and will be double the size of the already existing Halcyon Nirimba if given the green light.

Halcyon Blu by Stockland, if granted approval, will be located on approximately 19ha on Western Dr, Banya in Caloundra South and feature 400-500 homes.

The proposal designs show buyers will have the option to choose between single and two-storey homes, each with two bedrooms and car spaces.

The plans for the retirement village also show an expansive and modern leisure centre as well as a wellness retreat featuring a lagoon-style swimming pool organised around the community’s “living loop”.

The “living loop” will also include a cinema, library, yoga lawn and community garden exclusive to the private residents of Halcyon Blu.

A spokesman for Stockland said the development aimed to provide a healthy lifestyle for over-50s, creating 400 new homes in the Aura area.

“Stockland Halcyon communities create safe, vibrant, and thoughtfully planned lifestyle communities which offer quality, sustainability and liveability,” the spokesman said.

“The proposed lifestyle community designed for over 50s is expected to provide more than 400 homes upon completion, each with access to leisure, wellness and clubhouse facilities that support a range of activities and interests.

“There will be easy connection to the broader Aura community through direct access to the extensive walking and cycling network around Aura to support a healthy and active lifestyle.”

Halcyon Blu, if approved, will be the second Halcyon community in Aura following the start of construction on Halcyon Nirimba in 2021.

Prices for Halcyon Blu are yet to be released.

The price of houses in the Halcyon Nirimba community are advertised online starting at $629,800, with larger homes featuring statement kitchens and butler's pantries advertised for $864,100.

According to application documents the development is expected to take between six and seven years to complete and will consist of three separate building stages.

Halcyon Blu will feature 400-500 homes and amenities such as a wellness retreat if approved.
