NOOSA'S Jesse Dobson used his home-track advantage to take out the Junior Lites 2-stroke division at the Yamaha Queensland MX Championships at Coolum Pines.

Dobson tackled the Coolum track better than his rivals over the long weekend to finish first, ahead of Dakota Court and Joel Dinsdale.

In the blue ribbon Senior Open event, Australian champion Jay Marmont showed why he is one of the best riders in the land by winning the 450cc class.

Marmont beat Honda duo Todd Waters and Michael Phillips, while Jacob Wright finished fourth.

In the Senior Lites, Wright backed up and was slickest around the dirt on his Honda to take out the championship.

Wright beat Yamaha riders Luke Arborn and Shaun Redhead in the division.

It was not just seasoned professionals getting around the course though with youngster Noah Ferguson fastest in the 50cc division.

Ferguson beat Jett Lawrence and Jai Walker in the kids’ category.
