FRESH from victory in Ironman Cairns two weeks ago, Sunshine Coast professional Luke McKenzie secured another victory yesterday in the Philippines 5150.
McKenzie proved too good in a time just under two hours (17:55 swim, 1:04:13 ride, 35:27 run) over the Olympic distance of 1.5km, 40km and 10km, to hit the line three minutes in front of fellow Aussies Ben Allen and six minutes ahead of Michael Murphy.
In the women's event, Noosa's Belinda Granger got the money comfortably (20:05 swim, 1:12:41 ride, 42:13 run), seven minutes ahead of Michelle Gailey and Jacqui Slack.
Granger also went into the event also fresh from victory, having won Ironman 70.3 Honolulu three weeks ago.
