A Coast boxer will make his childhood dream come true as he prepares to make his professional debut in the ring.

Ben Cameron-Hands has been fighting since he was a kid and is set to make his long-awaited professional debut in Brisbane at the Nissan Arena on June 19.

With more than 90 career amateur fights to his name, Cameron-Hands only stepped foot back in the gym earlier this year after taking three years away from the sport.

The 20-year old, Cooroy-based resident knew it was the right decision at the time to step away and said he couldn't be more excited for what's ahead.

"I just decided I needed some time away from the sport to socialise and enjoy myself a bit more," he said.

"I've been working hard the past three months and I'm really keen to be able to throw the first punch.

"It's obviously every boxer's dream to fight professionally and to win those big fights in their career and I think mine starts here."

Cameron-Hands will fight in the lightweight division and said watching his older brother Sam make his professional debut earlier this year was a huge driving force.

"Seeing Sam have his debut fight and win made me even more excited to be able to step into the ring for what is one of my biggest fights," he said.

Well known boxing coach Mark Evans said it was great to have Cameron-Hands back in the gym and it was set to be a memorable night of fighting.

"He's had a good break away from boxing by running around and socialising as you should when you're in your teens but he's back now which is good to see," Evans said.

"He's had a good preparation and has put in a lot of hard work over the past few months to put himself in the best position possible.

"He's been boxing well, moving well and sparing well against the talent we have on offer on the Coast.

"All eyes will be on Benny and we're all hoping we get to see his hand raised in the ring by the end of it all."

Tickets to the event and information on all other fights on June 19 can be found here.
