Husband and wife horse racing duo Dallas and Adam Simpson are excited for the coming months after reallocating and scaling back their stable operation.

Adam, 24 and Dallas, 30, first worked together in South Australia under Tony McEvoy before they moved to Caulfield and then relocated to Queensland in 2020.

The Simpsons welcomed the birth of their daughter in January and have since relocated on course at Corbould Park, cutting down their boxes from 22 to 10.

“We’re concentrating on having nice quality horses to try and make our mark at the provincial level,” they said.

“We’ve got some horses that will make the metropolitan level but we really want to push our name at the provincial meets and make the most of it.

“It would be nice to pick up a few Saturday runners like we did last season but there’s a real focus on quality over quantity at the moment.”

The stable took on apprentice jockey Mitch Goring at the start of the year.

“It’s been good, he’s only been to the races a handful of times and is due back at the races soon after a bit of a break,” they said.

“He’s got the natural ability and the natural drive so it’s a good relationship and I’m sure he’ll go a long way.”

They said they hoped a few of their leading chances could perform well in the coming weeks.

“We’ve got a really nice two-year-old, he’s had one public trial that went well so we’re keen to get him to the races in the next month,” they said.

“His name is Pride Of Savabella and he’ll hold the banner up for Simpson racing for sure.

“We’ve got American President in there as well, we’ve had a couple of little issues with him but he’s definitely got the ability, we just need to get him right.

“He came up from Sydney from Bjorn Baker so we’re excited to see what he can do up here.”

The Simpsons have also nominated former Peter Moody runner Romanova for the first of the 100s and 1000s series at the Sunshine Coast on Friday, September 29.
