IS HE or isn't he? Rumours have surfaced once again that Clive Palmer has put his Palmer Coolum Resort on the market.

The millionaire businessman and Member for Fairfax has always denied he was putting the resort on the market.

He is embroiled in a Supreme Court legal dispute with the resort's former general manager Bill Schoch this week.

Sources have suggested business people have been walking around the resort and investigating the possibility of putting in an offer.

It has also been suggested some minor renovations have been going on, with new self-contained kitchens put in some of the units.

The swimming pools were also full even though the resort had no guests and only the tennis centre and golf centre were open for business. One source, who asked to remain anonymous, heard the resort was on the market for $18 million.

Mr Palmer bought the resort, then known as the Hyatt Regency Coolum Beach, in July 2011.

Then it employed 650 staff, was rated as a five-star establishment and was the home of major sporting events including the PGA Golf tournament.

Mr Palmer first kicked the Hyatt out, then sacked large numbers of staff and then in March closed the resort down for "renovations".

Mr Schoch's case against Mr Palmer was being heard in the Brisbane Supreme Court this week.

He told the court Mr Palmer had made a verbal promise of a salary of $5 million.

When told he was relieved of his duties in late 2013, Mr Schoch sent an email referring to his entitlements of "five million dollars, less salary to date".

Mr Schoch told the court Mr Palmer phoned him soon after saying: "You don't have a contract for five million dollars. Your f...ing contract is $150,000. Leave by Tuesday. Sue me."

Mr Palmer said he was too unwell to answer the Daily's questions this week.

"I am not answering questions while I'm sick, sorry, bye," he said.
