REVEALED: New shops for Coast centre's $12million revamp

THREE new tenants have been announced at a major Sunshine Coast retail centre as extensive renovations near completion.

THREE new tenants have been announced at a major Sunshine Coast retail centre as extensive renovations near completion.

Aventus Property Group (APG), specialist fund and asset manager for the Aventus Retail Property Fund, has announced that Amart Furniture, World Gym and Sheridan would be part of the company's $85million Sunshine Coast Home in Maroochydore.

The 27,000sq m retail centre, located at 100 Maroochydore Road comprises a diverse mix of 33 retailers and showrooms including services, home, furniture, electrical, food, auto and bedding.

Amart Furniture has secured the single largest tenancy within the centre (6000sq m), with World Gym (1500sq m) and Sheridan (500sq m) taking the balance of space in the refurbished ex-Bunnings tenancy.

APG is also applying the finishing touches to its $12million refurbishment of Sunshine Coast Home, which will be completed late next month.

Adam Trent, head of development for Aventus Property Group, is pleased to be able to welcome the three new high-quality tenants that will add significant value to the shopping experience at Sunshine Coast Home.

"Sunshine Coast Home is one of the company's core assets in Queensland,'' he said, "and we are proud of what we have achieved here since acquisition.

"The high-quality retail centre is strategically located. It is close to Maroochydore's CBD and Sunshine Plaza, there is plenty of parking, road exposure is significant along Maroochydore's main road, and large retail footprints are available.

"The centre also trades seven days a week, supports a wide retail mix and caters for a diverse and growing community."

Scott Pears, chief operating officer for Amart Furniture said that since the 1970s, Amart Furniture had created a strong presence in Queensland.

"In 1998 we opened our first store on the Sunshine Coast. Located in Warana, the store has always been one of our busiest.

"We have wanted to add a second store on the Sunshine Coast for quite some time but needed to wait until we found the perfect site.

"I am happy to say that our team have done a brilliant job sourcing this new location in Sunshine Coast Home.

"The Maroochydore store will be a welcome addition to Amart Furniture's network. The team is doing a tremendous job preparing for opening day.

"I know customers will be excited to have a new location to view the affordable and stylish furniture."

Sunshine Coast Home features a wide mix of retailers including big brands and specialty stores such as Beacon Lighting, Pillow Talk, Petstock, TK Maxx, JB Hi Fi, Chemist Warehouse, Oz Design, Adairs, Super Cheap Auto and BWS.

Maroochydore is undergoing major redevelopment including the $400million Sunshine Plaza upgrade, a second major runway to be built at Sunshine Coast Airport and the new master-planned Maroochydore CBD.
