Luxury home with basketball hoop and halfpipe at Coolum Beach hits the market

A teenager’s dream house containing a basketball hoop and a half-pipe has hit the market in a ritzy suburb on the Sunshine Coast.

The luxury Mediterranean-style abode, boasting a massive warehouse at 8/17 Lomandra Pl, Coolum Beach is spaced over 525sqm.

The expansive property contains fully-furnished living spaces spread out over a ground floor and mezzanine level, with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Listed as an industrial building, the large warehouse adjoining the home has commercial potential and enough space to store up to six vehicles.

What makes this home unique though is an NBA-grade basketball hoop, a custom-built half-pipe, beer vending machine, and a 385-bottle wine cellar.

Ray White Commercial Noosa and Sunshine Coast Agent Tallon Pamenter described the property as a “once in a lifetime” opportunity.

“It’s a very unique offering, there’s nothing else quite like it on the Sunshine Coast, it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy this property,” Mr Pamenter said.

“It’s a perfect blend between luxury New York warehouse lifestyle living with a Mediterranean feel, but it also has the versatility of that warehouse space downstairs to conduct business from.

“I can’t help but mention the basketball court and half-pipe downstairs as well, it would be a great place to raise kids.”

The property was purchased and designed back in 2020 by a local Sunshine Coast family for $836,000.

“They pretty much bought the place as a blank canvas warehouse, essentially four walls and a toilet, and they did the entire renovation themselves,” Mr Pamenter said.

“The wife is an artist and has a particular eye for detail, they originally purchased this place as somewhere for their business, but they didn’t really like the land, so thought it would make a really wonderful home for them.

“They have done an absolutely amazing job, they should be commended on their efforts.”

The current owners are selling the property due to a change in lifestyle.

Subsequently, there has been significant interest in the property and with median house prices at Coolum Beach now upwards of $1.3 million, Mr Pamenter said the practical yet incredibly grandeur dwelling is expected to fetch an eye-watering price.

“It’s super unique, so we are selling it as an expression of interest,” Mr Pamenter said.

“We’ve had over 100 inquiries in the last two weeks on the property and everyone we take through is really wowed by it.

“There’s no set price, but based on feedback, we’re expecting a price north of the $2 million range, it’s extremely unique.”
