BE IT a knockdown and rebuilds or old houses given the kiss of life, the Sunshine Coast's demand for home renovations has skyrocketed in recent weeks.

For local firm Koncept Construction, which is about to embark on its "biggest" project to date, business is booming.

Owner Matt Ohlin said the firm had about 12 months' worth of projects lined up, with the majority owner-occupiers looking to improve the value of their home.

He said the Federal Government's $25,000 HomeBuilder scheme had no doubt helped up the ante.

"Most of our clients aren't looking to sell, they're looking at a long-term investment," Mr Ohlin said.

"From speaking around, there are a lot of inquiries too, especially after the stimulus. It's increasing."

The company has started work on its "biggest" project to date along Oceanic Dr, Warana and Mr Ohlin said the sense of fulfilment was unmatched.

"Some of our projects are really basic homes, standard three-bed, one-bath, one-garage, and in the end it's completely different," he said.

"You get a lot of satisfaction out of renos. Seeing what you have to start with and knowing what you will create.

"Looking back at the end product having created a real package is a good feeling."

Mr Ohlin said 75 per cent of their work was coastal suburbs, from Mooloolaba to Caloundra, and pockets of Buderim.
