THE Coast has always been a fertile ground for those looking to go celebrity spotting.

From homes on the golden sands of Noosa to family connections in Coolum, some of the world's sports and entertainment A-listers have close ties to our region.

As part of the 2018 Sunshine Coast Daily Power 100 series we've taken a look at 12 of the most high-profile celebrities you're a chance of spotting.

GABRIEL MACHT

THE Suits star and his wife, Aussie actor Jacinda Barrett, own a Noosa beach house which they bought more than 10 years ago for a touch over $750,000.

The pair have invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to honeymoon at the beach house.

THE champion golfer snapped up a Sunshine Beach home in April last year for $8.4 million.

A former world number one, Scott was the first Australian to win the Masters at Augusta in 2013.

ANTHONY BELL

CELEBRITY accountant and Sydney to Hobart yacht racing regular, Mr Bell and Kelly Landry, a television identity, paid $10.3 million for a six-bedroom waterfront mansion on Noosa Sound in October last year.

Mr Bell, owner of Investec Loyal, Perpetual Loyal and now Loyal supermaxi yacht, has won the famous ocean race and set a new race record in 2016.

RICHARD BRANSON

VIRGIN Group founder and world-famous businessman, Richard Branson bought Makepeace Island in the Noosa River for $2.86 million in the early-2000s.

His pad on the island can accommodate up to 22 guests.

JON COGHILL

A FORMER Powderfinger drummer, the Nambour State High School alumnus is now a reporter for ABC Sunshine Coast.

He bought a home in Marcus Beach back in 2014.

MARK WEBBER

FORMER F1 racing driver Mark Webber bought a house in Noosa Heads in 2011.

Webber paid $4.9 million for the home, which sits on 1362sq m of land, from former tennis star Thomas Muster.

KEVIN RUDD

THE former Nambour State High School student and ex-Prime Minister grew up on a Eumundi dairy farm.

In 2011 Mr Rudd dropped $3.1 million on a holiday home at Castaways Beach.

WAYNE SWAN

ANOTHER ex-Nambour State High School product, the former Federal Treasurer, who has a frosty relationship with former PM Kevin Rudd, is a regular visitor to the Coast.

He surfs in the region regularly and holidays between Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland.

KEITH URBAN

THE accomplished country music star and husband of Aussie screen royalty Nicole Kidman moved to Caboolture when he was a kid.

His career took off when he went to Nashville, but he's been spotted in the region over the years and was up in 2015 to farewell his late father, Bob.

JO BETH became a television favourite during the 1990s as host of Australia's Funniest Home Videos and during stints on Hey Hey It's Saturday.

She moved to the Noosa hinterland with tennis star ex-husband Thomas Muster, but returned three years after their split with son, Christian.

LISA CURRY

THE former Olympic swimmer has a home in Crohamhurst with Elvis impersonator husband Mark Tabone which they bought for $1.125 million in July, 2017.

Ms Curry also owns a unit in Alexandra Headland and a home in Minyama she bought with former husband Grant Kenny.

ALLAN LANGER

QUEENSLAND State of Origin and Brisbane Broncos superstar Allan 'Alfie' Langer is a successful restaurateur in Caloundra.

He runs Alfie's Mooo Char and Bar while still running the water for his beloved Broncos.
