THE sixth AFL club to carve out its premiership challenge from the Coast has been confirmed.

Port Adelaide Football Club will descend on the region for its 2020 pre-season camp.

The popular AFL club will arrive on the Coast in mid-December, joining Hawthorn and GWS Giants in having hit-outs on the Coast this month.

Western Bulldogs, Melbourne and Carlton will all arrive after Christmas for their preparations.

All clubs were set to use the upgraded Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex facilities for the training camps.

It meant one-third of teams in the AFL were set to use the Coast as their pre-season camp destination.

As well as the upgraded Multi Sports Complex, the Power will also use the facilities at the state-of-the-art high performance training and rehabilitation centre The Sports Hub Sunshine Coast at Lake Kawana during their visit.

Power senior assistant coach and AFL legend Michael Voss said the camp was a crucial element of their campaign.
