Police investigate serious Sunshine Coast hit and run

A police investigation into a serious hit and run on the Sunshine Coast continues while a 39-year-old man has spent the festive season in hospital.

Investigations into a serious hit and run on the Sunshine Coast are continuing while a 39-year-old man recovers in hospital from head and shoulder injuries.

The incident in Diddillibah happened near a service station on David Low Way at 2.19am on December 15, according to the initial investigation conducted by police.

Police said the man was walking east from the service station when he was struck by a car, believed to be a silver Holden Commodore sedan.

According to police, the car failed to stop following the incident and continued driving in an easterly direction.

The man suffered severe head and shoulder injuries and was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Police confirmed on Monday an investigation into the crash was ongoing and no charges had been laid.

It was also confirmed by police the 39-year-old man remained in hospital, receiving treatment and recovering from his injuries.
