Three teens involved in Mons ute crash, driver injured

A 17-year-old driver, one of three teenagers in a ute, was taken to a Sunshine Coast hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Mons.

A teen driver was taken to a Sunshine Coast hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Mons.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said an initial investigation showed that just after 9pm yesterday, August 26, a white 2017 Volkswagen Amarok was turning on to Glenmount Rd from Mons Rd when it left the road and crashed.

The driver, a 17-year-old Parrearra man, was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers, an 18-year-old Buddina man and a 17-year-old Wurtulla man, were not injured.

The forensic crash unit is investigating and witnesses or anyone with information should contact police via Policelink or Crime Stoppers.

Children injured in Bruce Hwy pileup, motorcyclist serious

Paramedics rushed six people to hospital, one with serious injuries, after three separate crashes on the Sunshine Coast on Friday night, including a Bruce Hwy pileup.

Two children were among the injured in the five-car highway crash.

A motorcyclist who ran into the back of a parked excavator was also taken to hospital with significant injuries.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Cocos Ave at Banya about 8.55pm on Friday, August 25.

The rider, a 41-year-old Nirimba man, was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with chest and leg injuries.

Caloundra police continue to investigate the crash.

Another motorcyclist was taken to the same hospital after paramedics were called to a crash in Sunrise Beach.

The man was in a stable condition following the crash on David Low Way about 7.30pm on Friday, August 25.

Paramedics were also called to a five-car crash on the Bruce Hwy at Beerburrum about 6.15pm on the same date.

Four people were taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

One woman in her 20s had a neck injury, a man in his 30s suffered a chest injury, two girls had minor head injuries and four other people did not want to go to hospital.

‘Significant injuries’: Three rushed to hospital after separate crashes

Three people have been rushed to hospital after separate crashes on the Sunshine Coast, and two were left with significant injuries.

A woman in her 50s was rushed to hospital with “significant facial injuries” after a single-motorbike crash at Tinbeerwah on Friday afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the scene at Coveys Rd and Cooroy Noosa Rd at 3pm.

The woman in her 50s was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with “significant facial injuries” and an “arm injury”, the spokeswoman said.

A person was also taken to the same hospital in a stable condition after a car crashed into a pole on Birtwill St in Coolum Beach at 2.30pm.

The latest incidents come after an elderly man was rushed to hospital with a “significant head injury” after he was hit by a car on Blackall Rd in Woombye.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at 11.11am to reports a 75-year-old man had been hit by a car.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the elderly man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition with a “significant head injury”.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the elderly man was on his way to hospital when police arrived at the scene and spoke to the driver.

The forensic crash unit is investigating.
