Vivienne Mary Glover allegedly stalked her Noosa neighbours for 11 years

A Noosa woman who allegedly accused her neighbour of being a rapist and involved with Islamic terrorism is accused of stalking the man and his wife for 11 years.

A Noosa woman who allegedly made fantastical accusations about her neighbour being a rapist and involved with Islamic terrorism is accused of stalking the man and his wife for more than a decade.

Vivienne Mary Glover pleaded not guilty in Maroochydore District Court to two counts of stalking her Noosaville neighbours between November 30, 2008 and February 28, 2019.

After a jury was selected on Wednesday crown prosecutor Alex Stark gave his opening statement for the trial on Thursday.

In his opening statement Mr Stark said Ms Glover had accused her neighbours of criminal actions in a volume of letters that were drafted or sent to Queensland and Federal Police, the Crimes and Misconduct Commission, her local member of parliament and the Minister of Police.

“(They were) wild accusations or insinuations such as rape, drugs or trafficking drugs or being involved or implicated in, supporting or sympathising with Islamic terrorism or Isis,” Mr Stark said.

Mr Stark alleged on January 21, 2011 Ms Glover told Noosa police she had been raped by her male neighbour in May 2009 and stated he had continually stalked her.

Later Ms Glover allegedly changed her statement to say he was repeatedly raping his longtime wife.

She described him as a danger or menace to children and said she feared he would eventually kill her.

Mr Stark said Ms Glover told police she felt as though she was being punished by her neighbours for not having sex with another male neighbour and declining to join a “swingers group”.

Mr Stark told the jury all Ms Glover’s claims about her neighbours were based on nothing, but “fantasy conspiracy theories”.

Mr Stark described Ms Glover, who was found with calendars that acted as surveillance logs, as having an obsessive fixation on her neighbour that was born out of an “uncompromising, unrelenting and dehumanising” hostility.

Detailed surveillance notes alleged to have been kept observed the married couple over 10 years coming and going from their house, including their conversations with friends, family and visitors.

“The notes (are) of people she was watching … including when they sneeze or cough and that’s not some joke,” Mr Stark said.

Glover allegedly wrote an entry that stated she saw her neighbour licking and sucking a dildo or ice block in her view.

The crown alleges Ms Glover hosed her neighbour with water, drove her car towards him in his front yarn, accused him of lighting her fence on fire and threw dog poo in his pool all while harassing, abusing and mocking him over the 11 years.

The jury heard evidence from the alleged male victim, who said he documented a small amount of the harassment in notebooks.

He said he had seen Ms Glover peering through gaps in his fence and taking photos or videos of him and his wife on their property.

“Nearly every time she saw me … I could hardly do any without being videoed or photographed,” he said.

“It got to the stage where I was getting nervous just cutting the lawn.”

He said Ms Glover’s behaviour escalated to continual verbal abuse.

“Her verbal abuse … went through the roof,” he said.

The court saw videos, recorded by the alleged victim, where Ms Glover was yelling abuse after he asked to have some vines removed.

She was heard to yell “f--k off filthy piece of s--t”, “f--king scum” before saying he belonged in a concentration camp.

The alleged victim fought back tears when he spoke about the false allegations made against him by Ms Glover.

He said the accusations of raping Ms Glover and his wife of 35 years were “devastating” and he suffered mentally as a result of her “never ending harassment”.

The alleged male victim said he couldn’t cope and was forced to start seeing doctors and psychologists.

The trial is to continue on Friday when Ms Glover’s Barrister Simone Bain is expected to question the alleged male victim.
