A 17-year-old has been charged over an alleged violent Sunshine Coast home invasion as police continue to hunt for three others.
Police alleged four men smashed their way into the Beerwah home of an elderly couple via a glass door, while armed with baseball bats and a gun, about 11.30pm on November 27 last year.
The group allegedly threatened the couple at the Burys Rd home, striking a male victim on the arm with a bat, before stealing several personal items, including mobile phones, before fleeing the scene.
In November, Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield described it as a “pretty harrowing incident” for the victims.
The 75-year-old man was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with arm injuries in a stable condition.
Sunshine Coast District CIB Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Duhig said a 17-year-old Brisbane boy had been arrested and charged with offences including robbery with violence.
The detective said the teenager had appeared before the magistrates court and was in custody, awaiting his next court date.
Sergeant Duhig said police continued to look for the others involved in the incident.
“Police are still following lines of inquiry to identify the outstanding three offenders,” he said.
The detective said anyone with information should contact police via Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
