A Sunshine Coast builder accused of manufacturing weapons after his home was searched in a drug raid had more charges revealed in court.

Benjamin Robert Osborne was refused bail in November after he allegedly manufactured handguns using a 3D printer and parts ordered from online shopping site TEMU.

More drug-related charges were mentioned on Friday, December 6 in Maroochydore Magistrates Court as Mr Osborne remains in jail on remand.

He has been charged with three counts of possessing a schedule one drug with a quantity of or exceeding schedule four, one of possessing a schedule two drug with a quantity of or exceeding schedule three, one of possessing anything used in a crime and one of possessing a weapon.

Defence lawyer Chelsea Emery told the court a partial brief of evidence has been provided by police but more material is still awaited.

She said Mr Osborne had bail on the charges mentioned on Friday but remained in custody in relation to his charges of manufacturing weapons.

She asked for the charges to join with his other matters on January 6, 2025.

Court documents previously viewed by this publication state Mr Osborne allegedly told police he had a loaded handgun in his desk drawer when officers raided his Cootharaba home.

The builder allegedly explained to police how he used gun blueprints from the internet to 3D print the stocks and triggers, used barrels ordered off TEMU and springs from Bunnings to create the weapon.

Documents state knives, 3D-printed knuckle dusters, drug items, ammunition, pipes and $4400 cash were allegedly found during the raid.

A small amount of amphetamine, 4.2g of cocaine, and 50ml of GHB were also allegedly found.

In written submissions tendered to the court by defence lawyer Rosalie McFarland during his bail application in November, Mr Osborne works as a builder but was a semi-professional snowboarder and coach in his early years.

His other 16 charges include multiple counts of drug possession, two counts of possessing a weapon and one of manufacturing weapons while not licensed.

No pleas have been entered.
