A 63-year-old Sippy Downs man who allegedly attacked his neighbour during a dramatic dispute will stay behind bars until his next court date.

Sadik Uluhan, 63, was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm after a 45-year-old man allegedly suffered a knife wound to the chest during a neighbourhood dispute in Morrison St about 7pm on Saturday.

Police believe the incident involved an ongoing neighbourhood dispute with the men understood to know each other.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard Mr Uluhan, who did not appear in court on Monday morning, was likely to be represented by a personally funded lawyer and had a scheduled meeting for Monday afternoon.

Duty lawyer Michael Robinson asked for the matter to be adjourned to Tuesday so Mr Uluhan could attain legal advice.

Mr Uluhan did not apply for bail and will remain behind bars until his next court date.

Several neighbours spoke to the Sunshine Coast Daily on Sunday about the dramatic moments when police swarmed the suburban street after the alleged stabbing.

One neighbour said she saw “police everywhere” with one part of Latimer Cres cordoned off by ambulance and cops with flashing lights following the incident.

Another neighbour said they saw a man lying on a driveway surrounded by police while they were photographing a pushbike.

A resident said he had seen a man being taken away by police.

Neighbours spoke of an ongoing issue of vandalism in the nearby streets in Sippy Downs though it is not clear if that is related.

The 45-year-old alleged victim was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
