Nykisha Schefe: Woman guilty of Buderim brawl, assault where man stabbed

A young Brisbane woman has admitted she was involved in a shocking public brawl in which a man was stabbed multiple times.

A young woman from Brisbane’s northside has pleaded guilty to four charges after an alleged public brawl on the Sunshine Coast left a man fighting for life.

Keperra woman Nykisha Anne Schefe, 20, pleaded guilty in Maroochydore District Court on Wednesday to assault occasioning bodily harm, affray, common assault and stealing a bicycle.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to an address at Kingsgrove Ct in Buderim about 7.45pm on January 6 last year.

The spokeswoman said there were reports of a “disturbance” and “physical altercation”, understood to have started in the residence before spilling out onto the street.

Three people, including Schefe, were said to be involved, while there were three victims, including a person who was stabbed.

Schefe is not alleged to have had the knife nor stabbed the victim.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were called to a Kingsgrove Ct address on the night in question and took a man in his 20s to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The spokesman said the man was in a critical condition from stab wounds to his abdomen, arm and leg.

Court documents show Schefe’s victim she caused bodily harm was Lorinda May O’Loughlin, while the victim of the lesser assault was Kamina May Eileen O’Loughlin.

The bicycle was stolen from Peter Eric Rhimes.

Schefe’s charges will be mentioned on July 26 in advance of sentencing at a later date.
