North Coast police staff member, senior police officer to face courts

Two male Queensland Police Service staff members from the North Coast region have been suspended and are due to face court with allegations of hacking and weapon possession.

A senior police officer and a station employee from the North Coast will face court over separate matters.

Queensland Police Service confirmed in a statement that a 42-year-old male Senior Constable was charged with one count of computer hacking and misuse and one count of unauthorised disclosure.

In a separate release from QPS, they said a 52-year-old male staff member was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon.

Both men have been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.

The Senior Constable was expected to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on December 13 while the male staff member will face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 15, 2024.
