A new development in awaited DNA testing has been revealed in a case against a young man accused of stabbing another person in their Sunshine Coast home.
Tom Starky has been charged with 10 offences including one of grievous bodily harm after he and his co-accused were allegedly involved in an incident on September 19 about 11pm in Pomona, which resulted in a person being stabbed.
His matter was mentioned Maroochydore Magistrates Court on December 6, where defence lawyer Chelsea Emery said they were still awaiting DNA evidence.
Police prosecutor Nick Nitschke said he had spoken to the arresting officer, who informed him “there is no DNA”, meaning there will potentially be no matches found.
The matter was adjourned to January 13.

Court documents revealed witnesses allegedly reported hearing a male and female yell out “he owes me money for drugs”, and shortly after the pair were allegedly seen smashing the windows of the Pomona home.
Mr Starky is facing a charge of grievous bodily harm, three charges of possessing drugs, one of possessing a knife, one of entering a dwelling at night while armed, in company, and damaging the property, one of possessing S4 or S8 poisons or medicine, one of wilful damage and one of possessing property used in a drug offence.
