Nate Preston: Police investigating disappearance of Nambour man

Details have emerged about the disappearance of a young Sunshine Coast man who went missing without a trace in Mooloolaba after failing to show up to work and losing contact with his mates.

Police are probing the disappearance of a Nambour man after he vanished in Mooloolaba following a night of drinking with his mates.

Nate Preston has not been reached by friends or family, hasn’t used his phone, accessed his bank accounts or turned up at his job since he disappeared on Saturday May 22, 2022.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield said Mr Preston was last seen leaving a mate’s unit in Mooloolaba at midnight Saturday and had not been seen or heard from since.

Sergeant Mansfield said his family and mates raised the alarm on Monday May 24, 2022 when the young Nambour man failed to show at his job in Kunda Park as a forklift operator.

CCTV footage from Saturday placed Mr Preston in Mooloolaba but no one has seen him since with his car still in Nambour.

He is described as 186cm in height with a slim build and long brown hair and was last seen wearing a black and white striped long sleeve shirt, black sweatpants and a single strap backpack.

Sergeant Mansfield said his friends and family were very concerned for his welfare as he would always be punctual to work and communicated with his friends regularly.

Police have made inquiries with public transport, Uber and taxis that were operating in Mooloolaba on the evening of May 22 to determine if they had seen Mr Preston.

Detectives have urged Mr Preston or anyone else with information on his whereabouts to contact them.
