Tradie tragedy: why construction workers need safer worksites

A 54-year-old Palmwoods man has died in hospital as more details emerge of his tragic sudden death at a Nambour business.

Paramedics rushed to treat the man for serious head injuries after he fell from an industrial shed roof at a Mill Ln business in Nambour about 3pm Thursday July 14, 2022.

He was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition and a Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed he later died in hospital.

The larrikin personality of the Palmwoods grandad, Gregory Brown, 54, will be remembered by his wife as she mourns her husband’s sudden passing.

In the days since his tragic death his wife Kerry Brown has reminisced on their “fairytale” marriage after the pair celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in April, 2022.

Mr Brown was a contractor and was doing a quote at the business when he fell between 5m-10m from a roof.

A Workplace Health and Safety spokesman said they were investigating the incident with police and were on scene on Friday morning.
