A motorcycle rider has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash shut down the Bruce Hwy northbound at Chevallum on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to the single motorcycle crash about 8am on Monday, October 23.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 50s was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with chest injuries.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said traffic was being diverted onto a side road, but could not confirm which one.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said one crew were called to the scene about 8.10am but left around 8.30am.
The crash has caused traffic to back up to the Sippy Downs on-ramp on the Bruce Hwy.
Firefighters were also called to another vehicle on fire on the Bruce Hwy, northbound, at Elimbah about 8.40am.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said the fire was extinguished on firefighters‘ arrival.
