Men pull knife during carjacking at Nambour intersection, Sunshine Coast

Police have found a vehicle involved in a carjacking by knifepoint in Nambour hundreds of kilometres from the scene as the investigation into the incident continues.

A car that was stolen during a carjacking at knifepoint in Nambour has been found “burnt out” in the Fraser Coast region.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the black Subaru XV was found on Doolong Rd in Wondunna on Monday night, about 200km from where it was stolen in Nambour.

He said it was “burnt out”.

The two men who stole the car at knifepoint from a 28-year-old man, while he was stopped at a set of traffic lights at the intersection of National Park and Nambour Connection roads about 11pm on January 28, are still missing.

The car had been spotted at Urraween, on January 29, at a service station before being found in its burnt out state.

The spokesman said the police investigation into the incident was ongoing.
