A Noosa man pushed a woman over and unleashed his fury on her refrigerator and television after a heated argument inside her home.

Luke Anthony Boden, 31, remained still and silent in Noosa Magistrates Court on August 13 after he entered guilty pleas to one count of common assault and one of wilful damage.

Police prosecutor Phillip Stephens told the court on August 12, 2023 Boden had sent a message to a woman saying he would visit her Pimpama home and became involved in an argument with her in front of the house.

After they moved inside the doorway, Boden grabbed the woman’s arm and pushed her, resulting in her falling backwards into a shoe rack which caused her pain, the court heard.

Sergeant Stephens said they moved further into the house before Boden ripped off the door of her refrigerator and threw it into her living room.

He also damaged a wall-mounted television in her bedroom.

Sergeant Stephens told the court Boden had provided compensation for most of the damage, but asked for an additional $990 which the woman had spent to repair tiles and hire cleaning after the fridge door damaged the floor.

Defence lawyer Rose Killip told the court her client had immediately paid for the damages and was willing to pay the additional $990, which he had not been aware of until recently.

She said Boden moved to Noosa sometime after the incident and does fly-in-fly-out work at the mines, holding a position as a production operator.

Boden is a single father who cares for his daughter during his weeks off from work, the court heard.

Ms Killip said he had taken it too far during the argument with the woman and he was remorseful for his actions.

Magistrate Chris Callaghan fined Boden $1200 and ordered him to pay the $990 in compensation.

No convictions were recorded.
