A Sunshine Coast tiler has faced court on multiple allegations including indecently dealing with a teenage girl.
Glenview man Jason Ronald Trims, 44, appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court via videolink from the Maroochydore Watchhouse on Monday, March 11, where he made an application for bail.
Mr Trims is charged with breaching bail, three counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 (indecently film), possessing pipes or drug utensils for use, possessing dangerous drugs, using the internet to procure a child under 16 and enter premises with intent.
He has not entered any pleas.
The court was told a 15-year-old girl was the alleged victim at the centre of the child sex charges.
Police prosecutor Stu Lydford said police opposed bail.
The court was told Mr Trims had other, similar matters currently in the Maroochydore District Court, but those were of a historical nature.
Duty lawyer Michael Robinson said his client was a self-employed tiler and owned a home where he would live should he be given bail.
But Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist denied Mr Trims bail, saying there was a “very strong case” against him complete with screenshots and photo evidence.
Mr Trims was remanded in custody and will return to the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on June 7, 2024.
