Fraser Island crash: Man pinned between two cars near Orchid Beach

A rescue helicopter has flown a man to hospital after he was crushed between two 4WDs for more than eight seconds on Fraser Island.

A man has been flown to hospital after he was pinned between two vehicles on Fraser Island during a Boxing Day holiday gone wrong.

Paramedics rushed to Orchid Beach at 9.24am on Sunday to reports of a man in his 50s being crushed between two cars.

It’s believed the man had been standing between a 4WD which attempted to tow a bogged car when one of the vehicles rolled.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the man was then wedged between both vehicles for eight seconds.

The man suffered abdominal, pelvic and spinal injuries according to a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman.

A rescue helicopter flew the man to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
