Police are retracing the steps of a 29-year-old Tamborine mum before her tragic death as her family comes to grips with the sudden loss of a woman who touched so many lives.

Ella-May Correa-O’Hanlon, 29, tragically died in a traffic crash after paramedics, police and a passer-by tried desperately to save her life about 4.30pm on Sunday, February 27 in Tanawha.

There has been an outpouring of emotion from those close to the Tamborine mum as police investigate Ms Correa O’Hanlon’s final footsteps before her death.

Her brother Daniel Correa remembered his sister as a keen traveller and a friend who would lend her mates a hand whenever she could and said she was a woman who lived for her son and her dog Breezy.

“She loved her family both on her mum’s and dad’s side and will be terribly missed but never forgotten,” Mr Correa said.

“She made her life like a butterfly and just soared high with her love for life.”

Police say the 29-year-old had been travelling to Proserpine from the Sunshine Coast on February 27 when her trip was interrupted due to the closure of the Bruce Hwy from flooding.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield said the Criminal Investigation Branch had initially been involved in investigating the crash on February 27.

Sergeant Mansfield said crash experts believe Ms Correa-O’Hanlon was the only person in the vehicle at the time and had been flung from the car during the accident.

He said they were not investigating any suspicious circumstances involving a third party.

Ms Correa-O’Hanlon was found along Frizzo Connection Rd and Cunning Rd just off the Bruce Hwy by a passer-by who rendered assistance with a police officer.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and helped conduct CPR alongside the pair but the much-loved 29-year-old tragically died from injuries suffered in the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.

Police have asked anyone with information relating to the crash to come forward.
