Detectives investigating alleged assault after Glass House Mountains road rage incident

Caloundra detectives are investigating an alleged assault which left a man with suspected facial fractures from a road rage incident at the Glass House Mountains.

A man in his 40s sustained head and face injuries after he was allegedly assaulted following a road rage incident at Coochin Creek.

Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch acting officer-in-charge Craig Mansfield said the matter was being investigated by Caloundra detectives.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mansfield said the alleged assault was believed to have stemmed from a road rage incident at Johnston Road on Saturday afternoon.

Critical care paramedics took the person to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition around 4.30pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman said the man, aged in his 40s, sustained a head injury.

Sergeant Mansfield said the victim sustained some facial fractures.

“It appears there was some road rage incident and one of the parties involved started assaulting the other,” Sergeant Mansfield said.

“We are still determining the extent.”

Sergeant Mansfield said police were seeking any CCTV footage or witnesses to come forward.
