A burnout incident led police to a Sunshine Coast home where they conducted a raid and charged a trio.

Caloundra South police have charged three people after they conducted a search warrant in relation to alleged hooning activity and drug offences.

On March 20, at about 11am, a 32-year-old Nirimba man was filmed performing a burnout in a black Holden ClubSport on Packer Rd, Baringa.

Police swiftly responded and conducted a search warrant later that day at an Annalise Circuit address, where the man was taken into custody and the vehicle was seized.

The 32-year-old man faces charges including one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle and failing to ensure the vehicle was properly registered. He is scheduled to appear in the Caloundra Magistrates Court on April 10.

During the search, police claim they found illicit substances including cannabis, methylamphetamine, and gamma hydroxybutyric acid (GHB), along with drug utensils.

A 28-year-old Nirimba woman was arrested at the same address and charged with multiple offences including three counts of supplying dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing drug utensils, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and property suspected to be linked to criminal activity.

A 34-year-old Nirimba woman was also charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and other drug-related offences.

She faces charges including possession of drug utensils and failing to take reasonable care with a syringe or needle.

Both women are scheduled to appear in the Caloundra Magistrates Court on May 1.

Sergeant Marty Simpson from Caloundra South Police Station said police would not tolerate hooning behaviour.

“Intentionally driving in a dangerous manner on public roads not only puts your life at risk, but the lives of passengers and innocent members of the public,” Sgt Simpson said.

“We are committed to ensuring south Caloundra roadways are safe for all road users.”
