A Noosa concreter will be released from custody after admitting to a horror stalking campaign on his ex-girlfriend due to a mix of jealousy and his “indulgence in meth”.

Maroochydore District Court heard on Wednesday of the frightening extent Adam Trent Young went to after he descended into a jealous drug rage when he discovered his former partner had a new partner.

The 41-year-old and the victim’s relationship ended in 2022 however the Noosa man could not respect the boundaries set by her in terms of their domestic violence order.

Crown prosecutor Michael Andronicus said Young breached the order twice in November and December last year and again in January, prompting the victim to tell him to leave her alone or she’d call police.

Young’s disturbing stalking escalated three days later on January 18, when the 41-year-old intercepted his former partner, her new boyfriend and his children while they were being driven to daycare.

Mr Andronicus said Young, while on a motorbike, kicked the victim’s car door and questioned her about her new partner. She told him it was none of his business.

The court was told Young rode his motorcycle back to his former partner’s home, covered the front security camera and entered the home.

While inside, he pulled out her bedside doors, he threw his former partner’s underwear on the floor, and stole her new partner’s Garmin watch along with his bag.

Young then rode to her sister’s house and questioned them about the victim’s new partner. He was told to leave.

The Noosa concreter returned to the victim’s home and deflated one of her tyres before he left again. He also sent menacing social media messages to the victim’s new boyfriend.

Realising Young had been at their home, the victim, her kids and her new partner reported it to police and stayed at another apartment at Noosaville.

The 41-year-old tracked the pair due to a feature on one of his children’s iPads.

Mr Andronicus told the court Young cut the new brakes of her new partner’s car and deflated a tyre about 3am the next day.

Police raided Young’s home later that morning where he fled from officers. During his ill-fated escape he chucked a bag with 4.5g of meth inside onto a neighbour’s roof.

Police also found scales and a meth pipe in his home.

He was arrested and told police his former partner had a “bee in her bonnet” and played down his stalking.

Young was taken into custody on January 19 where he stayed until Wednesday.

He admitted to his despicable offending by pleading guilty to two counts of contravening a domestic violence order, two of driving disqualified, one of stalking, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.

The prosecutor labelled Young’s stalking as “persistent and callous” which escalated from abusive texts to violence to property.

Defence barrister James Feely said Young sobered up while in custody, and told the court his client’s “indulgence in meth” played a role in his stalking as it led to paranoia.

Mr Feely said there were “inflamed emotions” at the time but accepted the relationship was over.

The barrister said Young wanted to return to Hervey Bay to be with his parents and continue his work on concreting.

Judge Gary Long said it was Young’s jealousy over his partner’s new man which resulted in the 41-year-old going to “unacceptable” lengths to terrorise the victim.

Young was jailed for two years and three months, with 327 days in custody given as time served.

Judge Long however set a parole release date as of Wednesday.

Young was also disqualified from driving for two years.
