Chloe Abdesselem arrested following alleged assaults at El Camino Cantina

A Sunshine Coast woman on bail for an alleged assault at a shopping centre has been accused of an aggressive confrontation with Mexican restaurant staff after being refused margaritas and shots.

A Sippy Downs woman has been arrested for allegedly assaulting two people at a popular Mexican restaurant when she was refused margaritas and shots.

Chloe Monique Abdesselem was arrested on May 22 following a spate of alleged alcohol fuelled behaviour which also included assaulting a cleaner and security guard.

Bail objection documents tendered to Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday during her bail application revealed her latest alleged stunts, where she faces charges of public nuisance, two counts of common assault and one of wilful damage and breaching bail.

Court documents allege Abdesselem was charged on March 27 following an unprovoked attack on a cleaner at Kawana Shopping World at Buddina.

Police allege a female security guard tried to assist the cleaner however was allegedly punched in the face by the 27-year-old and spat on.

Abdesselem was arrested but given police bail however came into the crosshairs of police again on May 13 at her home at Sippy Downs.

Court documents state Abdesselem was drunk at the time when she was reported to be allegedly running on the street, stripping naked and abusing residents.

Officers arrived at the scene however the 27-year-old was too intoxicated to speak to them and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Officers allege in court documents the Sippy Downs woman attended El Camino Cantina Restaurant at Maroochydore a week later about 7.45pm on May 21 and spoke to staff.

Police allege she was refused two margarita cocktails and shots and became aggressive.

Abdesselem allegedly pushed the venue manager in the chest with her black bag before she threw two glass bottles on the ground while continuing to yell abuse.

As security officers arrived she allegedly picked up a spray bottle from a table and threw it into the restaurant which hit a patron on the hip, causing redness and minor swelling.

Police eventually visited Abdesselem at her home the next day who didn’t recall the incident but was arrested.

The 27-year-old appeared in on Monday where solicitor Alex Collins successfully applied for her bail. Her matters were adjourned to Friday.
