A child rapist told police he felt an allure to a four-year-old girl because she was "so young and pure and innocent".
The girl's mother sat in Maroochydore District Court on Wednesday as Ariel Jesse Pool, 34, was jailed for touching and orally raping the little girl.
The court heard Pool had maintained a sexual relationship with another girl who was aged 10 and 11 when she was touched, or made to touch him, on about 280 occasions over 13 months.
"He manipulated her into doing indecent acts on him," Crown prosecutor Christopher Cook said.
"On that first occasion he also touched her vagina over the top of her pyjamas for about two minutes.
"There was an occasion where the defendant exposed his penis and had her masturbate it for five to 10 minutes."
The court heard Pool sometimes touched her chest and genitals under her clothes.
Mr Cook said Pool first touched the four-year-old girl's vagina over her clothing.
In an interview with police, he made admissions to orally raping the girl.
He told police that he felt slightly allured to the four-year-old after she was smacked.
"She's just so young and pure and innocent, and that's no reason to put your hand there but she didn't mind and I don't know what the f--- was going through my head," Pool said in his police interview.
"Obviously nothing smart.
"And just yeah, I remember thinking how warm it was."
Pool was not a relative of either child.
Mr Cook said Pool was a danger to the community who lacked insight and remorse.
Pool pleaded guilty on Wednesday to 14 charges including the domestic violence offences of rape, and maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child.
Defence barrister Robert Glenday said Pool had no relevant criminal history, had co-operated with police, and not breached bail.
"He's done the right thing in pleading guilty and he is remorseful, your honour," Mr Glenday said.
Judge Anthony Rafter said the maximum penalties for maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child and rape were life imprisonment.
He said the offending involved a significant violation of trust.
Pool was given a head sentence of seven-and-a-half years' jail with parole eligibility after serving one third.
The convictions were recorded.
