Caloundra Chempro pharmacist held at knifepoint during armed robbery on Thursday night

A man fled from the scene of an armed robbery in Caloundra with a sum of cash after threatening a pharmacist with a knife.

A pharmacist has been threatened with a knife during an armed hold up at a Caloundra chemist on Thursday night.

Police are seeking public assistance following the armed robbery at Caloundra Chempro Chemist off Caloundra Road.

A man entered the store about 6.55pm, threatened a male pharmacist with a knife and demanded money.

He then fled the scene with a quantity of cash.

A Chempro Caloundra staff member told the Daily the pharmacist was not injured.

She said there were no other customers in the store at the time.

Police want to speak to a male resident who spoke to pharmacy staff immediately after the robbery.

Investigators are requesting dash cam or CCTV footage from anyone in the vicinity of Caloundra Road and Golden Beach Tavern between 6.20m and 7pm.
