Brenden John Casey, Bradley Ernest Hardy and Jodie Leanne Herrmann charged over alleged Ilkley drug lab

Three people have been charged after a four month police operation targeting drug trafficking on the Sunshine Coast. Read what happened in court.

A trio who were arrested following an alleged drug raid in the Sunshine Coast hinterland can be identified as the case against them proceeds before the courts.

Police will allege 49-year-old Brenden John Casey, 51-year-old Bradley Ernest Hardy and 39-year-old Jodie Leanne Herrmann were arrested on July 20, 2022 following a four month operation targeting drug trafficking.

Mr Casey appeared via video link in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 21, 2022, charged with four counts of supplying dangerous drugs, one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs, two counts of aggravated supply of dangerous drug to a minor aged 16 or older and other drug offences.

The Ilkley man had his matter adjourned to July 22 where he is expected to apply for bail.

Mr Hardy, also of Ilkley, was given watch-house bail on Wednesday after he was charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, including methylamphetamine and diazepam.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on August 28, 2022.

Ms Herrmann was charged with possessing a dangerous drug (cannabis) and also given watch-house bail on July 20, 2022.

She will have her matter mentioned in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on August 30.

Police will allege the trio were charged after detectives swooped on a “heavily fortified” Ilkley Rd address near Eudlo, allegedly finding $60,000 in cash and a large amount of meth.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield said police will allege 28g of meth, $60,000 in cash and stolen property was found at the 4ha property.

Police will allege a speed lab was also found.

Operation Uniform Canterbury began in March 2022 following an investigation into the alleged trafficking of meth and marijuana on the Sunshine Coast.

A number of firearms were also allegedly found on the property along with stolen jewellery, power tools and other building material taken from homes under construction.

Sergeant Mansfield said police also seized two yachts in Mooloolaba, alleged to have been gained from the proceeds of crime.
