A Glass House Mountains catering company chef has been arrested for allegedly pinning a police officer against a car with his motorcycle while trying to flee authorities.

Brendan Alan Gaffney told Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday he had “changed his ways” before he was refused bail for an allegedly concerning incident at Little Mountain on June 7.

Police prosecutor Tara Miles said the allegedly dangerous escapade was caught on CCTV at a service station where Gaffney tried to flee from police.

Senior Constable Miles alleged Gaffney, 39, in the process injured two police officers, pinning one against a car with a motorbike he was riding.

He was swiftly arrested and charged with 12 offences including two counts of seriously assaulting police causing bodily harm, two of obstructing police and one of dangerous operation of a vehicle.

Duty lawyer Michael Robinson said Gaffney largely kept himself out of trouble for the past five years, before magistrate Rod Madsen interjected and said the 39-year-old was on parole.

Mr Robinson labelled the alleged incident a “moment of stupidity” which “got out of hand” after he went to the fuel station for food.

The Legal Aid lawyer said Gaffney allegedly apologised to police and “recovered his senses” very quickly and even made some admissions to the officers.

The court heard the Glass House Mountains man was working as a chef for a catering company at Caboolture moonlighted as a commercial cleaner.

When reading the allegations to the court, Mr Madsen took note two police officers were allegedly injured in the incident.

“I’ve changed my ways your honour,” Gaffney said before his bail was refused.

His matter was adjourned to July 11.
