Update 1.20pm: Residents woke to a “bang” in the early hours of Saturday after a ute carrying three young men in the tray crashed in Beerwah.
The men were taken to hospital after a ute crashed into a tree on Woodgrove Boulevard about 2.45am on Saturday, June 26.
Two posts were dislodged from the side of the road where the ute left the bitumen.
A Woodgrove Boulevard resident, who asked not to be named, said she was woken by a loud noise.
“We heard a bang and then we saw flashing lights,” she said.
“We often hear hoons here.”
Police said no charges had been laid.
Original: Three young men have escaped serious injury after a ute crashed into a tree while they were riding in the tray.
Police and paramedics were called to Woodgrove Boulevard in Beerwah at 2.45am on Saturday.
A police spokesman said the men were riding in the tray when the ute crashed into a tree.
The spokesman said no serious injuries had been reported.
Paramedics took three men to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The police spokesman said no charges had been laid but investigations were continuing.
He would not confirm ages but said the three men and the male driver, who was on a provisional licence, were all about the same age.
