A teenager has been flown to hospital after being found unconscious following a ‘drowning incident’ at a Noosa beach.

A young teenager has been flown to hospital after being found unresponsive at Noosa Main Beach.

Multiple paramedics rushed to the Noosa Surf Life Saving Club at Hastings St, Noosa Heads about 3.30pm on Sunday to reports a teenager was unconscious and not breathing following a “drowning incident”.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said emergency crews rushed the teen to a nearby airfield and flew them to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The teenager was believed to be in a serious condition.

Friday - Traffic drama after crash on busy Sunshine Coast road

Traffic came to a halt late on Thursday after several vehicles crashed on an on-ramp to a major Sunshine Coast road.

The crash occurred about 6.30pm on the Kawana Way on-ramp onto Sunshine Mwy, which caused traffic to back up all the way back to Mountain Creek.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said five people were looked over by paramedics after the multi-vehicle accident, which included one car that rolled over.

One patient was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, with all other patients not requiring further care.

Wednesday - Hiker winched to safety after Mt Tibrogargan rescue

A woman hiker has been winched to safety at the Glass House Mountains after she suffered a medical episode.

Remote rescue crews scaled the eastern face of Mt Tibrogargan around midday on Wednesday after two hikers requested assistance due to a woman in her 40s suffering a medical episode.

She was then unable to make her way down the track.

Footage of the rescue shows the woman being winched to safety from a precarious position off the mountain.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said four crews responded to the incident at Barrs Rd and found the pair about 1.15pm at the summit who were assessed by paramedics.

A Lifeflight spokeswoman said firefighters were training on the mountain at the same time the incident occurred and offered initial assistance to the hikers while waiting for the rescue helicopter to arrive.

The spokeswoman said a rescue helicopter winched one of the hikers from the top of the mountain.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman who suffered the medical episode was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with no life threatening concerns.

It’s understood the second hiker was not injured and did not require treatment, with rescue crews leaving the mountain about 1.50pm.

Tuesday – Man arrested after 4WD smashes into multiple parked cars

A man has been arrested after several reports of a four-wheel drive smashing into multiple parked vehicles on a busy road in Coolum Beach were received by police.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said there were reports that a driver in a four-wheel drive on South Coolum Rd had allegedly hit multiple parked vehicles about 4.35pm today, August 27.

A social media post also emerged soon after the incident, describing a “big white” four-wheel drive allegedly crashing into parked cars and allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road.

“I have dashcam footage if needed, hope everyone is okay and there was not too much damage towards their cars,” the post stated.

Commenters were quick to respond, with one saying they thought they were going to be hit and others saying they had seen the vehicle on the Yandina Coolum Rd roundabout, on the Sunshine Mwy.

A police spokeswoman later said a man was arrested following the Yandina Coolum Rd incident.
