Two people have been rescued after they were stuck on a ride up to 4m above the ground at a Sunshine Coast theme park.
Emergency services were called to the rescue at Frizzo Rd, Palmview, just before 2pm.
On arrival, two people were found in a carriage on a ride about 4m above the ground at Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said crews used a ladder to retrieve the people from the ride.
“Crews put up a ladder to get the people out of the ride,” the spokesman said.
“Both people have been safely brought down.”
An Aussie World spokeswoman stated that two people were retrieved from the Bug Run ride after the safety system activated.
“The Bug Run ride safety system was activated today at 1.36pm, resulting in a completely safe controlled stop,” the spokeswoman said.
“The two guests on-board were not placed in danger at any time and have been disembarked safely from the ride.
“These controlled stops on our rides are an essential safety system used across all theme parks and can be activated for a number of reasons.
“They do not put our guests in any danger.”
An investigation into the cause of the ride stoppage is underway.
