Man flown to Brisbane hospital after motorcycle crash in Cooroy

A man has been rushed to a Brisbane hospital following a motorbike crash on a private Sunshine Coast hinterland property.

A man has been flown to a Brisbane hospital after a motorbike crash on a private property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to a property in Nandroya Rd, Cooroy, about 7.15am today after a rider in his 50s crashed a motorbike.

The paramedic spokeswoman said the man was flown in a stable condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with an injury to his femur and right side.

Evacuation caused by smoke drama

Emergency crews were called to a building in Mooloolaba following reports of smoke, prompting an evacuation.

Three fire crews attended a building near the corner of River Esplanade and Parkyn Parade in Mooloolaba about 10am on Friday, October 25.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said it was reported a light had been causing smoke inside the building.

The site was evacuated as a safety precaution.
