Emergency services have freed a paraglider trapped 40 metres up a pine tree on a popular Sunshine Coast stretch.

A Queensland ambulance spokeswoman said the man was conscious and breathing, telling paramedics just before 2pm he was uninjured, just stuck in the pine tree on Harbour Parade at Buddina.

She said paramedics had remained on scene on standby to assist if needed.

A Queensland fire department spokesman said three crews worked to rescue the paraglider who was suspended in the harness, hanging 40 metres in the air.

He said he was safely rescued at 2.30pm.
