SOAPBOX: Give me sunny skies

I love what the rain does to the surf, how it clears everyone from the carparks at Noosa, but I hate everything else about it – especially in winter.

I HATE the rain.

I love what the rain does to the surf, how it clears everyone from the carparks at Noosa and I love the sound it makes when you're dozing off to sleep, but I hate everything else about it - especially in winter.

There's nothing worse than being caught in a downpour when you're already cold, and ending up damp for the rest of the day.

It's always guaranteed that a rainy day is the day I've left it to get my groceries and run errands.

I'll try as hard as I can to psych myself before opening the car door and hurrying to cover.

It never happens that smoothly though and I'll be fumbling with my phone and wallet, drop my keys and forget something in the car causing me to run all the way back in the rain and repeat the process.

Driving anywhere in the rain is just as bad.

I hate driving in the wet and the dodgy parts of the motorway where the water pools in particular spots giving you the fright of your life even though you're travelling well below the speed limit.

Another thing I hate about the rain is how the depth of a puddle deceives you. What looks shallow usually is ankle deep and leaves you with soggy socks.

Sunshine and clear sky just makes for a better day so here's hoping this rain passes quickly so we can see the sun again soon.
