I OFTEN wondered what happened to people who were put in the too-hard basket, people that just don't seem to fit in with the social groups or norms we have in modern life.
Earlier this week I found out when I sat down to speak with Antoneta Krzeva.
Antoneta is at breaking point. For more than eight years she's been fighting for equal rights for her 71-year-old mother.
Her mother has medical conditions that make her a little difficult to live near.
The condition gives her a "foghorn-like" voice and now because of the issue she has been evicted from her public housing unit.
I can understand neighbours complaining. No one wants to have their life upset by someone next door being constantly noisy.
What I can't understand is how there isn't more compassion towards Antoneta's mother. She can and wants to live independently, all she needs is a home that suits her medical condition.
A home where neighbours aren't so close or one that can be closed up so neighbours can't hear her.
What about the cost I hear you say? Well what about the cost of all the court cases and lawyers. Surely it's smarter to put Antoneta's mother in a home in which she can live safely rather than spending hundreds of thousands on legal bills to kick her out.
