IT IS amazing the relevant State Government departments have not yet sorted out the camper/dingo situation on Fraser Island.
Placing signs saying "Don't feed....” is one thing.
The fact these dingos are obviously starving and the same situation has presented for years, signifies a distinct lack of any kind of progress on the issue.
That visitors like the latest case are still being threatened, is very disturbing.
The last time this occurred there followed a huge cull of the animals, when they were doing what comes naturally.
People do not go camping in lion parks in Africa.
Why is it then considered safe to have campers where there are hungry, wild animals on Fraser Island?
It must be very tempting for people to want to feed these animals when they have no other way of staving hunger despite the warnings.
