AFTER 57 years of travelling between multiple offices, sprawled across the Coast, a Nambour care centre was excited to officially open their new headquarters.

Community-based, not-for-profit, retirement and care centre organisation Sundale opened their new head office in an old section of Nambour’s council chambers today.

Sundale CEO Danielle Mackenzie said the new head office complemented a fresh way of thinking and working.

“We are excited about the future and the opportunities and the innovations that our new head office will help deliver to the people that matter, our residents and care recipients,” she said.

“For the first time in Sundale’s 57-year history our administration and support teams, historical based at multiple locations, will be under one roof boosting efficiency and further creating a culture of teamwork open communication and collaborations.”

Sundale finance manager Mike Hogarth was based at Sundale’s Burnside office and said the new location was a welcomed change.

“I was in Burnside on Windsor Rd and we had Burnside school, Nambour Special School and TAFE, so that meant that you were planning your day around the logistics of the fact that your team was in another area,” he said.

“And as a manager I was missing out of the vibe and being a part of that you can’t do that from a distance.

“Now it’s just a fact of them coming to our floor, it’s great and it just means you can get your work done.”

Ms Mackenzie said Nambour was the perfect location for the new office.

“We are extremely proud of our heritage, we have been a part of this community since 1963,” she said.

“We were birthed here, and we are very much a part of the Nambour community, so Nambour is very close to members of our organisation.”
