Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has promised to give a greater focus on climate change, including establishing a new portfolio to be headed by Cabinet newcomer, Hervey Bay MP Andrew McNamara.
Mr McNamara will take responsibility for the portfolio of Sustainability, Climate Change and Innovation.
Ms Bligh, speaking at a meeting of APN editors in Brisbane yesterday, pledged to put a greater emphasis on climate change in her first term as Premier, while maintaining she would support the continuation of Queensland's huge coal industry.
