THE regeneration of the Mooloolaba Bowls Club is rolling along with a new, outdoor bar and beer garden set to lure younger age groups into the venue.

General manager Paula Herdman said the fit-out still had about 2-3 weeks to run and had been going for about 4-6 weeks so far.

The new bar and beer garden will front the outdoor greens which are now used for social gatherings and barefoot bowls, after the development of the high-class indoor bowls green.

Eight beer taps, a full bar with beer, wine and food offerings including pizza, tapas and share platters will be developed in the new section of the bowls club on Brisbane Rd.

"It is so popular, we do a lot of outdoor activities,” Ms Herdman said.

"There's nowhere in Mooloolaba to have a little beer garden.”

She said she'd targeted this time of year to launch the new bar, as they head into a busy period filled with Christmas party functions.

Ms Herdman said opening hours were still to be determined and would be based on demand, but she hoped to have the new bar function as a coffee shop of a morning then serve as a bar and dining facility from lunch.

Tradies would be catered to of an afternoon before a younger crowd was targeted of an evening, from Thursday to Sunday.

She said the fully-fenced greens offered a great place for parents to bring their children down for a catch-up.

"If it warrants it it'll be open seven days and nights a week,” Ms Herdman said.

Acoustic Sunday sessions from 3pm-7pm were also planned on the grass greens Ms Herdman said had become so valuable to the club.

"We'll certainly never get rid of that grass green,” she said.

"Our bowlers wouldn't go out the front (now).”

She said the club had undergone massive changes and she hoped this would be the final piece of its transformation.
