A NAMBOUR beauty salon owner is using her creative flair to honour the animal and plant life lost during Australia's devastating bushfire season.
Owner of Baby Doll Beauty and nail artist, Kacey Tomholt, said nail art was the perfect way to remember the wildlife that was caught up in the fires.
"Something small like that can always make people think of the animals and the tragedy of the bushfires here in Australia," she said.
"It started when one of my regular clients saw a photo of a koala and she asked if we could do some plants and a koala in memory of the bushfires."
It's been estimated that 1.25 billion native animals have perished in the Australian bushfires, including koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and echidnas.
Baby Doll Beauty customer Cody Jeffs decided to get flowers painted on her nails in honour of the plant life lost in the fires.
"I think it's great to show support and we are always looking at our nails, so if painted they can always remind us what's happened.
"Remembering the wildlife is so important because if they all die, we will have no wildlife for generations to come."
Ms Jeffs also said the creations could act as a conversation starter and raise awareness of the bushfire crisis.
"If you have things painted on your nails a lot of people are always like, 'oh wow' and the conversation goes from there.
