Power has been restored in Buderim following hours of outages from an underground cable fault.

UPDATE: Power has been restored in Buderim following hours of outages from an underground cable fault. 

More than 1900 residents were plunged into darkness about 9am this morning and later reduced to 36. 

Energex say the issue is restored now. 

 

EARLIER: 10AM: BUDERIM residents near Lindsay Rd could be without power "for hours" as Energex crews work to fix an underground cable fault.

More than 1900 customers in the region were plunged into darkness earlier this morning due to the fault.

An Energex spokesman said crews are working on the problem and that some customers should be back up and running within the hour.

He said residents near Lindsay Rd, where the fault occurred, could be without power "for hours". 
 

 

INITIAL: MORE than 1900 homes across the Sunshine Coast have been plunged into darkness this morning with mass power outages.

In Buderim, 1803 homes are without power, 61 at Mons, 39 at Tanawha and one at Forest Glen, according to Energex.

Energex has been approached for comment.
